The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a new exam pattern for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam to be conducted in 2023. The new pattern aims to make the selection process more efficient and transparent. Here's all you need to know about the SSC CGL new exam pattern 2023:
The SSC CGL exam will now be conducted in four tiers instead of the previous three. The first two tiers will be conducted in the computer-based mode, while the last two tiers will be conducted in the descriptive mode.
Tier-I will have 100 multiple-choice questions, each carrying two marks. The duration of the exam will be 60 minutes. The syllabus of Tier-I will remain the same as the previous years, covering General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.
Tier II will also have 100 multiple-choice questions in each of the two papers, each carrying two marks. The duration of each paper will be 120 minutes. The syllabus for Paper-I will remain the same, covering Quantitative Aptitude. Paper II will now cover General Studies (Finance and Economics) instead of English Language and Comprehension, which was the case earlier.
Tier III will now be a descriptive paper instead of the previous objective-type paper. The duration of the exam will be 60 minutes, and it will carry 100 marks. Candidates will have to write an essay and a letter/application.
Tier-IV will remain the same as the previous years, comprising Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test/Document Verification.
Overall, the new SSC CGL exam pattern 2023 aims to test a candidate's overall aptitude and understanding of various subjects. It will also help in filtering out candidates who are not suitable for the job. Aspirants are advised to thoroughly go through the syllabus and prepare accordingly. With hard work and dedication, cracking the SSC CGL exam will no longer be a daunting task.
