Eligibility Criteria

Education

• Master’s degree holders with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for reserved categories)
• Students appearing for the final year of masters exams or waiting for the results
• PhD Holders who completed their masters before September 19, 1991

Age Limit

• Maximum age limit for candidates appearing for JRF is 30 Years
• OBC-NC, SC, ST, PwD candidates, transgender, women, who served in armed forces, and researchers are provided up to 5 Years of relaxation.
• L.M. Degree holders are given 3 Years of relaxation
• No Upper Age Limit for Assistant Professors

Exam Pattern

Candidates applying for the UGC Net Exam have to pass two papers. The mode of examination is online, and both these papers are objective type.

These exams take place consequently without a break, and students are given a total of 3 hours to complete 150 questions.

Each question consists of 2 marks, and there are no negative marks for incorrect answers. Candidates have to attempt all questions.
