Introduction
University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national level exam conducted to select candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian public universities and colleges.
It is considered as one of the toughest exams in India, with a success ratio of only 6%. Over 7 lakh candidates appeared for the exam in December 2019 covering 81 subjects.

Eligibility Criteria
In terms of educational qualifications, Candidates should have completed their Masters’ Degree or Equivalent Degree within the percentage criteria 55% Marks for General Category and 50% Marks for ST/SC/OBC/PWD/Transgender.
The candidates whose result is awaited are also eligible for the UGC NET Exam only if their PG Result can be declared within the 2 years of NET Result Declaration Date.
The candidates who have pursued their post-graduation in a field that is closely related to Computer Science Stream can only apply for UGC NET Computer Science Exam.
The candidates who are applying for the Junior Research Fellowship Exam must not age more than 30 years. There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor.
How to Crack UGC NET Computer Science Exam?
The exam is conducted in two papers – Paper 1 & 2. Paper 1 remains common for all subjects and consists of questions from Research, Teaching & General Aptitude.
Paper 2 however, will consist of questions from only Computer science and application. From June 2019, Paper 1 & Paper 2 have been conducted in a single three-hour duration.
Both papers will be of objective type and there will be no negative marking in the UGC NET Exam, so you must try to attempt all the questions in the exam.
In order to crack this exam, you would need great dedication along with the perfect combination of hard work and concentration.
You must start preparing as soon as possible. Before starting your preparation, check the syllabus and note down the important topics which cover large section in the exam.
